In 2015 the S3 company (Swiss Space Systems) will organize its first weightless ZeroG flights to the general public. Main partner, Breitling, is now working on an exclusive chronograph to equip the passengers. The ZeroG project will begin in 2015 in over 15 locations around the world. The flights of about two hours aboard an Airbus will include 15 free floats lasting between 20 t 25 seconds. This will provide the passengers to experience a total weightlessness, as if in space.
The passengers’ equipment will include a unique Breitling chronograph. The so called ‘S3 ZeroG’-chronograph will be constructed in a light and black titanium case, equipped with a thermo compensating SuperQuartz-movement. This movement is about ten times more accurate than a standard quartz movement!
In the design the ‘S3 ZeroG’-chronograph will distinguish itself by its ‘S3’ logo appearing on the dial and rubber strap. And if that is not clear enough, there will be a a parabolic flight engraving in the case-back.
unfortunately for the watch-fanatics the ‘S3 ZeroG’-chronograph will not be commercialized outside the ZeroG-flight program. In fact the watch will serve as the boarding card for passengers. But, lucky for some, you can still book your ticket! To get it: CLICK HERE
About the Zero G flight
Zero gravity is defined as the absence of gravitational pull, which is the natural force of attraction exerted on us by the earth. Zero gravity results in a sense of weightlessness, allowing bodies and materials to move completely freely. Zero gravity can be achieved by going into deep space, far from any gravitational body such as planets and stars; by going into orbit, such as on the International Space Station, where the earths gravitational pull is minimal; or by taking one of our a parabolic flights – by far the easiest option!
